Considered one of Finland’s most intriguing and talented pianists, Juho Pohjonen debuted at Carnegie Hall in 2004 and has won numerous competitions. He was selected as one of fourteen musicians to join the CMS Two Residency Program for Outstanding Young Artists at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

The Gilmore Rising Stars Recital Series brings some of the best young international pianists to the intimate setting of the Wellspring Theater at the Epic Center in downtown Kalamazoo. For audiences with a special love of music, particularly keyboard music, the discovery of these wonderful new talents — as well as the fact that their artistry can be enjoyed now, before they become “big stars” — makes this series particularly compelling. This is a unique opportunity to witness legends in the making.
